Ann Taylor: Striped Strapless Dress Review + Open Cardigan

Striped Strapless Dress - $98
Here I am wearing a Petite Small.  The smaller 'regular' sizes were sold out, so I decided to size-up and try the petite.  Definitely a good move... see the length?  Any longer and I wouldn't like it.  I'm almost 5'6" and this hits right at the top of my knee .... appropriate for just about any occasion IMO.

Trying to do a 'twirl' here!


All in all, love this dress.  It was a love-affair once I saw it in the store when I was 9 months prego, so on Friends and Family promo (30% off) it was a no-brainer.  It's all stretch with no zippers.  Right now, I'm not super happy with how it looks on my hips, but I'm also still carrying an extra 10-15 pounds right now, so....  I would suggest trying the Petite if you are shorter than 5'6" because I think the regular length would have been too much fabric for me for the summer! TTS from what I can tell.

Also,

I wouldn't pair these together, but I love this cardi!  This is an XS in the Sea Salt color.  Definitely a darker 'sea salt' than J.Crew's.  Trying to give the 'belted' effect with my hands here b/c I was too lazy to go find a belt!

This cardigan is probably one of the nicest pieces I've received from any order from any store in a long time!  LOVE IT!   Thick and supple, it's a great transition piece for fall/winter!  There are so many other great colors, including Mouse Brown which I would LOVE to have!  I would definitely check this out while still 30% off today! TTS.

We met some friends out for dinner Friday night and I actually had some time and the energy to put an outfit together (which is rare).  I've been wearing only dresses lately due to heat and the fact that ANYTHING around my waist is extremely uncomfortable right now, but I got some new size Large leggings from Forever21 that are super comfy, so I decided to give them a shot!

Ann Taylor and LOFT deals!!

Oh how I loveth Ann Taylor and the LOFT Friends and Family time of the year!  And, oh how I showed them my love by buying WAY too much stuff!  Here are the best pieces:


Ann Taylor, Wool Jersey Ruffle Neck Dress: $150 (30% off for F&F)
 
I love this dress because of the long sleeves since I always hate having to check my coat right at the door with a sleeveless dress on!  Also, it's form-fitting without being too clingy (aka: I can wear tights under it without TOO much of the dreaded tummy-roll showing)  Love love love the ruffle neckline and plan on wearing tights with this due to the short length.
 
 
 

Ann Taylor, Tiered Grossgrain and Chiffon Dress: $240 (on sale for $149 then 40% off that)

This is a super-sexy and very fun dress!  I cannot wait to wear this to my hubby's firms' Christmas party!  There are optional spaghetti straps, but I don't plan on using them.  This baby is sold out online.


Before the Friends and Family deals, I hit up the LOFT for their Buy1 Get 1 50% off sweater deal ..... plus I used a 20% coupon.... sweet!


                                
LOFT, Toggle Sweater Coat: $108 (Buy 1 Get 1 50% off, plus 20% off purchase!) - This sweater coat is so warm a cozy.  It's a bit more flattering than I expected considering the thickness of the sweater!  It covers the butt, too!  Love it!


LOFT, Rosette Cardigan: $89 - I honestly could not choose a color on this one.  I ended up going with this color because it was the color I originally saw in the look-book and fell in love with.  I think this will look great with black pants, and of course jeans!  I would NOT have paid full price for this,  but I love it for the price I got it at!



LOFT, Soft Red Sweater: $49


LOFT, Chunk Ribbed Sweater: $59 - First, I couldn't decide on a color in this cardi, then I ended up returning it.  I just couldn't get it to consitantly look flattering in the hip and waist area... end for about $25.... it was also a little tight in the rib cage area, even if I sized up.

PS: The jeans I have on in all these pics (b/c I was too lazy to change them!) are my new Paige Premium Denim Skinny Jeans in a light destruction wash.... had to give 'em a shout-out .... they are my new staple!

Ann Taylor Super-Sale

So, this is a little late in posting but....what's new?


A couple of weeks ago, ONE of the Ann Taylor's in our area was having 50% off all tops (sweaters included)! I say ONE, because the other AT in my area was having Buy 1, Get 1 50% (which is soooo not the same thing!) Also, they were offering 40% off all sale items!


Anyway, I snagged a few great deals (and bonus, I was by myself at the time of shopping, so I got to spend tons of time trying on and scouring for deals!) mostly for winter, I'm pretty pumped!

Pd: $17 - non-itchy and the perfect weight for a sweater (although I'm not sure they think of it as a sweater, I do :) Currently Sold Out online.


I also snagged gold metallic and silver metallic seamless camis from the sale racks for Christmas outfits. I always find myself wishing a had metallic cami to go under certain sweaters, cardis, etc... so I was pumped to pick them up for about $11 each! (no pics - those camis are NOT forgiving on the tummy/waistline area .... who needs to see that?!)

paid: $44 - itchy, but I LOVE the color, so I can wear a tee shirt underneath ... loving this with black leggings and even without the belt it is not "tent-like". This is still FP online.


One of my favorites is the *Wool Cardigan with Grosgrain Trim* in "Galaxy". I didn't take a pic of it yet, but I plan on pairing it with my cream cords or over a black dress. I am loving the navy and black combo right now! This is still FP online right now, too.



Lastly, for my absolute favorite piece I purchased...

I purchased this in a medium (that's all the had left at the time) and then found it in black on the sale rack for only $17 last week! I love love love them! I checked today and they are basically sold out online.

More recently at The LOFT, I purchased *this* J. Crew Victoria shirt look-alike to wear in our family photos yesterday! I'll post actual pics in the next week or so! Loving it so far! And now it's only $22.50 online! Sweet!
